What if 10 Dinners Could Change Your Faith Life?

 

Journey through Alpha, a 10-week encounter with the Catholic faith that includes dinner, lively small group discussion, and an opportunity to ask questions and share opinions about the topic of the evening. The first meeting for this year will be on Thursday, September 20 at 6:30 pm at St. Joseph Parish in Marian Hall. There is no charge. Come and see if you like the first night; if so, then continue; if not, there is no pressure to return, but we hope you do! Spots are limited—sign up online at stjoevan.org/101. RECEPTIONIST

St. Joseph Catholic Church has an opening for an energetic, welcoming parish receptionist. This position is 36 hours per week Monday through Friday. Full health benefits package and paid time off. Primary duties of this position are to greet visitors and answer phones in a professional, yet personal manner while handling multiple administrative tasks. Bilingual (Spanish and English) and practicing Catholic preferred. Hourly rate $15.50 to $16.50 per hour depending on experience. Advanced Care Planning becomes increasingly important as we age in order to make our wishes known if we can’t speak for ourselves. Respecting Choices is an internationally recognized program that provides education in a process of communication that helps individuals. Experienced professionals will provide information on medical treatment options, benefits and burdens. Register for a free 2-hour class held at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Health Education Center (NE 92nd Ave and E. Mill Plain Blvd) on Wednesday, November 8 from 2:00  to 4:00 pm. Good Shepherd Manor, an independent non-profit founded by lay Catholics, urgently needs an live-in caregiver for our Adult Care Home.  A large room with private bath, utilities and meals are provided in addition to wages. CNA (NAC) or HCA credentials are preferred, but we are willing to pay for training for the right person.
