Covid-19 Summary of Impacts on parish events

Mar. 25, 2020                                                        Solemnity of the Annunciation

To the People of God in Camas and Washougal:

During this Season of Lent and the COVID-19 pandemic, continue to pray! Deepen your commitment to prayer:  for yourselves, your families, and our wider community!

Prayer is the most fundamental attitude and action of the Church.  It is the foundation on which our Faith and our Celebration of the Mass rests and begins with personal prayer and family prayer in your homes.

Your households are the Domestic Church, forming islands of Christian life in an unbelieving world. Be what you are!

  • Pray regularly:to sanctify time and remain rooted throughout the day. Consider the traditions of morning prayer, a noontime Angelus, an evening rosary, and an examination of conscience at night.
  • Create and use home altars:to sanctify space and remind you of God.
  • See below for a list of ways to stay connected and get ideas online.

Following Governor Inslee’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order of Mar. 23 and Archbishop Etienne’s guidance of Mar. 24, the following updates to parish life at St. Thomas Aquinas are in effect, motivated by an abundance of concern for your health:

  • Confessions are available by appointment only; contact Fr. Raja as listed above. Previously scheduled confession times (Tue & Sat) are suspended.
  • The church building is closed, the door codes for after-hours access have been changed, and all public Masses are suspended until further notice. The suspension will remain in effect at least through Easter.
  • Parish staff remain available via email and phone while working remotely. The parish office is closed.
  • All public parish events and meetings are canceled until further notice.
